2. Scope

These participation conditions apply to all giveaways and contests conducted by checkpaint.tf on the website, Discord, or other platforms, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

3. Eligibility

Minimum age: 18 years

Additional requirements:

  • Valid Steam account with public profile
  • Acceptance of these terms
  • Valid trade URL for Steam item prizes
  • No prior violations of our Terms of Service

Excluded:

  • Persons under 18 years of age
  • Employees and close family members of the organizer
  • Persons in countries where participation is legally prohibited

4. Participation Period

The exact participation period is specified separately for each giveaway. Entries outside this period are invalid.

Weekly Discord Giveaways:

  • Duration: Typically 7 days
  • Drawing: Every Sunday

Special Events (e.g., Advent Calendar):

  • Period and conditions announced separately

5. How to Participate

5.1 Discord Giveaways

  1. Membership in the official checkpaint.tf Discord server
  2. Reaction to the giveaway message in the designated channel
  3. Only one entry per person/Steam account per giveaway

5.2 Website Giveaways

  1. Login with Steam account on checkpaint.tf
  2. Registration of a valid trade URL in profile
  3. Completion of giveaway-specific requirements

5.3 Advent Calendar

  1. Daily opening of calendar doors
  2. Optional trivia questions for additional tickets
  3. Weighted random selection based on collected tickets

6. Prizes and Winner Selection

6.1 Prizes

Prizes are announced separately for each giveaway. Typical prizes include Team Fortress 2 items transferred via Steam trading.

6.2 Winner Selection

Winners are determined by random selection:

  • Simple giveaways: Each participant has an equal chance
  • Weighted giveaways: Winning chance proportional to collected tickets

Selection is performed using computerized random number generators or Discord bot functions. The organizer ensures the fairness of the process.

7. Winner Notification

Winners are notified as follows:

  • Discord Giveaways: Public mention in Discord server and/or direct message
  • Website Giveaways: Notification on website and/or by email

Winners must respond within 7 days of notification. Failure to respond forfeits the prize, and a replacement winner may be drawn.

8. Prize Delivery

8.1 Steam Items

  • Prizes are delivered via Steam trade offer
  • A valid trade URL is required
  • Winner must accept trade within 7 days
  • Steam account trade restrictions may delay delivery

8.2 No Cash Alternative

Cash payment or exchange for other goods is not possible.

9. Data Protection

9.1 Collected Data

  • Steam ID and display name
  • Trade URL
  • Participation data and timestamps
  • Discord ID if applicable

9.2 Purpose

  • Conducting the giveaway
  • Winner selection and notification
  • Prize delivery
  • Documentation for legal purposes

9.3 Retention Period

Giveaway-related data is retained for 24 months after the giveaway ends.

10. Public Announcement

Winners may be publicly announced with their Steam display name. If you prefer anonymous treatment, contact us before the drawing.

11. Disclaimer

11.1 General

The organizer is not liable for:

  • Technical issues during participation or prize delivery
  • Delays due to Steam trade restrictions
  • Loss or damage of items after transfer
  • Actions of third parties (e.g., Steam, Discord)

11.2 Value Changes

The organizer is not liable for value changes of virtual items after prize delivery.

12. Early Termination

The organizer reserves the right to cancel or modify a giveaway at any time without notice, particularly in cases of:

  • Technical problems
  • Suspected fraud or manipulation
  • Legal reasons
  • Force majeure

13. Exclusion of Participants

The organizer reserves the right to exclude participants who:

  • Provide false information
  • Violate these terms
  • Attempt manipulation
  • Participate multiple times (multi-accounts)
  • Display unsportsmanlike or offensive behavior

14. Modifications

The organizer reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be published on the website.

15. Severability Clause

If individual provisions of these terms become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.

Legal recourse is excluded.

17. Applicable Law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
